All things, for my GOOD!

In my little sojourn here on Abba's precious green dot, I have realized that one of the most powerful things to understand is that, there are always 2 sides to every event. Becoming a widow at 28 was one of the most powerful things that happened to me at that point and I got to understand that GRIEF is such a powerful emotion (ok, I've used powerful a lot, lol, but I hope you get the point). It plunged me into my second faith crisis. The first was plainly due to curiosity (I read some material that carried me go where I no know and I wasn't strong enough to understand the purpose or ask myself the right questions).

I was at a gathering of amazing young women a while back and someone emphatically said, 'All bad things come from the devil', while I don't necessarily disagree, my contemplation was on whether she had a fair measurement on what she labelled as bad. Let me explain with a story.

In Lagos, there are 2 very big scam statements -
    The Island = enjoyment and
    All weekends are lit.
While you can argue on the latter, the former is so factual that it's a sure conversation starter with any Lagosian (Try it and come and testify). The reason the Island does not emphatically equal enjoyment, asides the massive false lifestyle, is the TRAFFIC, and the exorbitant prices of EVERYTHING! Stay with me pls. On this faithful day on Fashola's Island are 2 young men, lets call them Mr A and Mr B.

A lirru backstory - Mr A is a graduate of University of, sorry, a Federal University (before una wipe me USB), Computer Science, Second Class upper graduate, life has happened to him and he needs N9,500 to be able to enter night bus to go to PH for an interview. His dad's debtors have threatened to take his 13 year old sister as wife and needless to say that his whole family has fasted and prayed that he gets it and as a sharp guy, he believes he will.
Mr B is a 40 year old tech bro, married to the female, (its important to specify these days 🙄) love of his life, who was diagnosed 🤦(abeg, help me put another fancy word) with PCOS, thus she medically has issues conceiving, amidst suffering depression other mental health issues because she's pushing 40 too, she miraculously conceives and is near full term (what God cannot do does not exist, I'm sorry I couldn't resist 😄).
The interview is tomorrow, Mr A has already rescheduled twice and the company has been gracious enough to indulge him twice. He rescheduled because he couldn't meet up with sales.
Mr A is popcorn hawker on Lekki-Epe.
Mr B's wife has been having slight pains on her right lower side and this morning, she starts bleeding and also complains of intense abdominal pain.

Mr A specifically prayed that God created the biggest TRAFFIC Google map has ever seen so he can be able to make up his balance and make the interview.
Mr B, while rushing his wife into the car is frantically praying he somehow maneuvers every TRAFFIC and is able to get to the hospital before his wife passes out.

Now back to you, dear reader, assuming you are able to choose, knowing fully well, the consequences of your decision, which will it be - traffic, or no traffic?

True, the Bible speaks on how all good and precious gifts come from God, but have you stopped to think that God also created the devil and is STILL letting him live because He has use for him!

After my second crisis of faith, and being painfully introverted, God sent my friends at Heaven's Gate Academy to me and used them to help me understand the weight of the statement
GOD IS GOOD!
Realizing that like the uniqueness of saltiness to salt, God's goodness is true and pure and like the picture above, He is the only one who is able to see, I mean, truly SEE in all dimensions and do that which is, in its essence, GOOD. If Jesus' death, which was seen at the time as the greatest BAD and even celebrated in hell as victory, was in essence, the greatest GOOD ever done to man, how then, can we truly call a thing, or event, BAD?

Am I happy that my hubby left home and never came back because he died in a car accident at the junction to our house and it was hidden from me for 2 days, absolutely NOT, but I understand that God let it happen for good.

Olakunle Soriyan, my uncle (na lie o, he's someone I realllllyyyy respect and admire and would love to be mentored by him) once spoke about how he doesn't have any prayers against the devil cos they (Uncle K and devil) are both agents reporting to the same boss (but really, I'm serious about being mentored by him, if you can epp me, reach me personally here). So because he understands this, he looks for the purpose in whatever event that happens to him because there always is.

So my dearly beloved, this post don dey long, the aim of my ranting is to let you understand that nothing is really BAD, if you check am well, you just don't know the reason yet....and might never know, and that too is OK. Know this and know peace.

Peace out🤞(I didn't see the peace sign, manage this)

Yours firmly rooted in the Lord Jesus 😇

Perfect randomness (7 random things.....get it)

I talk to myself sometimes.......hey, hey, relax joor, im very sane, its just needed sometimes you know, I even hear its healthy sef.....O.k, Im not sure about that sha but sometimes it helps to just speak to urself, you know, especially those times when the atmosphere is so quiet, its over the roof loud.

I loooooveeee art, shout out to one of the best art groups.....heck, the best art group, this side of mother earth, MIEN art, u guys are the best joor, dont mind those people that think all we do is play around with UHU and paint in Chapel till 10pm.

As untrue as it might seem.....I think I am a mushy romantic.....I guess i'm just to stubborn to admit it....note to futurehusband, this doesnt mean you will force me to watch titanic with u oh, there's a reason I still havent finished that movie.....its just too SAD!

I think alllll the time.....like literally speaking, even when I want to sleep, I have to consciously shut those wheels in my head from turning, its like its constantly churning out stuff, ideas, scenarios, fantasies, plenty things....o.k, this is quite funny, when I was younger....o.k, not so long ago, maybe 2. 3 years back, I even used to make up scenarios where I'll be in trouble, not too serious sha, the kind that is probable to occur in my environment, but i'll then come up with all the punch lines plausible to come out victorious! Weird ba, yea, yea I know

I loveee my parents, I know every one claims to, but I actually really trully love those guys.I love them for so many things, especially for the kinda upbringing they gave us. We were not born with silver spoons or any of such, but my mum espacially, taught us how to be content with whatever we had, teaching us to nurse and carter for our bronze spoons so much so that they now shine like gold ones :)

I used to almost be a tom-boy, it took me close to 2, 3 years to completely take the slouch outta my posture, loved rock n didnt give a croocked smile about what peole thought about me, didnt really like boys, they just all seemed like dogs! I said 'seemed' oh, so pls dont crucify me. But thanks to my besties Jalabia and 23, Je sius madmoiselle.

I absolutely Love the Lord, He's being several things to me at different times, there was the best friend/boyfriend phase, the father phase, the Lord and Master phase, in all He's been so faithful, so faithful I know I dont deserve any of His love cos I've been on a roller coaster walk with Him.
Therefore, dear Lord, Sweet sweet Jesus, the password to my life....both literally and metaphorically speaking, I dedicate this to ya mwah.....

Yours.........ever humbled,

A.D

Step into my head

Yes step into my head. These are just some random thoughts of mine which I think should have answers, maybe factual, maybe not.

I wonder why people think real born again Christians are all boring and the once who are funny are not serious once. Like, seriously, don’t dull it oh, I can show you Holy Ghost filled, tongues speaking, baptized in River Jordan, Born again again pips who will give basket mouth and co a run for their money…………..Pastor Lanre Oluseye I hail oh. As in sometimes I just feel these are part of the very numerous lies the devil tells, sha that one dey.

What exactly do blind people see (I mean the ones born blind)………ok I know they are BLIND, duh, but seriously, I want to know what exactly they see, white or black, bright light or crippling darkness and don’t just blurt out and say darkness, I don’t think you can teach colours with Braille!

Would be nice to know the chemical formula of pepper, we all know salt as NaCl, ‘manggi’ as spiced salt, crayfish as………duh, crayed fish, curry as anything our aboki friend mixes and has a yellow colour, suya pepper as…….errr pepper meant for suya, but with which we can make heavenly  indomie J. You can complete the list, I remember one time in Gulder Ultimate Search when serious owu was blowing in camp and the chef suggested they use curry to give the supposed egusi soup he made the desired colour! Necessity truly is the mother of invention.

I wily wily wonder who started all these yeye old wives’ tales:
´          That if a frog jumps over you, you’ll turn to a boy. Kai, *shakesheadinshame* I confess to falling victim to this treacherous lie, I should have been 8 or 9, but I was young and naïve (so don’t chop me) and we had a mini veggie garden at the backyard, it was raining season so that equaled fresh ugu which equaled veggie soup which equaled eba frequently occurring on the food timetable for the rest of the season, so we went-a-plucking, and just as I had entered the middle, I saw one of the highest leaps ever attempted by an amphibian, you know how adrenaline makes you do stuff bera, It made me see this leap in slow-mo and believe me, this should be the biggest frog ever, twas quite fat, ugly and lazy and I could almost swear that I saw it grin at me. As soon as this happened, I ran as fast and as directionless as a mad woman throwing my hands in the air in utter fear and viciously grabbing my crotch as I didn’t want to turn to a boy! You can laugh all you want, but I was terrified.
´          That the devil urinates in an uncovered yawning mouth……….yesso I kid you not, I heard this from a grown educated woman
´          That if you walk backwards, you’ll bring death and bad luck………….hmmn, but MJ was the king of the moon walk, little wonder abi, I did not say anything oh
´          That if you fish on a Sunday you’ll turn to a monkey……….I wonder why there aren’t monkey zoos in the Niger-Delta regarding the fact that this peeps fish day in, day out, Christmas in, Salah out.
´          If a man eats the head of a rat, he becomes a thief…..mhmmm; I don’t think our dear fwend from the Nat. Ass. De2 Banks ate any rat’s head oh, I did not say anything oh
´          If a woman dreams of being beaten by a snake she has conceived!…………………….no comment.
´          If a male tastes a meal from the ladle, he’ll never grow a beard……….. I’m waiting for my brother to grow up and prove this wrong.
I would want to hear silly  and random thoughts of yours or even answers to mine.

Yours…………..thoughtfully

Judge Trudy

Today was another memorable day………..it has nothing to do with a guy jor. Hmmmn, today, as silly and funny as it may sound, I was scared stiff, today, a giant ball of cotton wool got stuck in my ear! Don’t laugh oh, could have been you, and no I wasn’t carried away with the sweet feeling it gives neither was I using broom or any sharp object to chook it, it was a proper cotton wool, twas even the first one out of the new pack
.
While my cousins were trying all they could as they automatically became doctors (Nigerians are multitalented jore) using all sorts in my ear from toothpick to scissors, I was busy imagining all sorts. I imagined that the toothpick would get stuck too or it’ll burst something in my ear and I’ll become deaf……….tufiakwa! I also imagined that it will magically merge with my inners and it’ll make me have awesome superpower, being able to pick the sound of a pin drop on a rug! Ok, that’s the effect of too much powerpuff girls, but really my mind raced with all sorts of stupid imaginations some of which I had to visibly shake off.
When my cousins would try and only come out with tiny shreds, they tell me, ’You see why I don’t use that thing, Stop using that thing’ But I have to na, Im not suffering from OCD or any of such, but I love to keep my body clean, down to the tiny details, but noooo, he said a little ear dirt is good as it helps lubricate the ear as oil lubricates any system! Like say wheel dey for inside my ear.

The whole conversation brought me to the realization that most of us manipulate our lives and miss opportunities based on past failures. Because that wool got stuck in my ear, my cousin overruled the use of cotton buds. Maybe Mama Nkechi’s moi-moi made you purge and you decide that moi-moi is bad for you, you become ‘moi-moi intolerant’, or you happen to buy ‘superbite’ sausage roll and the one you bought was expired, and then you start spreading the news that saying that brand is bad, better still the pastor of a Church you were beginning to love makes advances at you and all hell is let loose, you label all members of that church hypocrites and all the pastor, home and abroad false prophets.

Its very wrong, I mean, Mama Nkechi might have mistakenly added laxative to the moi-moi and that pastor might just be a bad egg, im not saying we should not be able to logically make conclusions, but not on the first attempt. Shebi when people go for HIV test and it comes out positive, they don’t start digging their graves or swallowing anti-retroviral, they go for another test, even up to 5 other tests.

All im saying is, don’t be so quick to judge.

Oh and we finally drove to a proper hospital and had the wool removed, so im fine
Yours…….attentively
